Triamterene

A diuretic. Triamterene (Dyrenium, Maxzide) is used to reduce excessive amounts of water in the body associated with heart failure and to treat edema (swelling). Unlike some diuretics, triamterene does not cause the body to lose potassium.


A diuretic that is given by mouth and produces an effect within two hours. It causes the loss of sodium and chloride from the kidneys and is used in the treatment of various forms of fluid retention (edema). Common side-effects include nausea, vomiting, weakness, reduced blood pressure, and digestive disorders.


A diuretic medication utilized for managing hypertension (elevated blood pressure) and edema (fluid buildup in tissues). Potential negative effects encompass nausea, vomiting, weakness, and skin rash.
