A1995 HCFA demonstration project for providing care to Medicare beneficiaries in new and innovative ways. The project involves a selected group of HMOs, PPOs, POS options, integrated delivery systems, and primary care case management systems in various parts of the U.S. The goals are to provide Medicare beneficiaries with more delivery system choices and to test alternative payment arrangements. Objectives include testing the receptivity of Medicare beneficiaries to a broad range of health care delivery system options and to evaluate the suitability of such options for the Medicare program.
