A group of drugs which relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and reduce fever. The group excludes aspirin, although NSAIDS are similar to aspirin. Included are such products as Tylenol, Advil, ibuprofen, and Aleve. The group also excludes steroids, a specific class of organic compounds, which includes certain vitamins, hormones, and others, including those performance-enhancing substances such as testosterone, the use of which is forbidden in Olympic and other athletes.
