More convex on one side than on the other, like a not-quite-full moon;


Inflated on one side near the base, slightly pouched.


Swollen at one place or on one side.


Pouched, inflated on one side, or one side more convex than the other.


The term “gibbous” refers to a humped or outwardly curved condition, such as a gibbous spine. In the past, a deformity known as a gibbus, characterized by an extreme hunch in the back, was a prevalent condition caused by tuberculosis of the spine.
