Goumi berry

The fruit being described is a wild, reddish-orange fruit that is related to the buffalo berry. It has a pleasant, tart flavor that makes it suitable for use in preserves, but it is not recommended to eat raw. In China and Japan, it is commonly used in sauces, pies, and other dishes. However, in the eastern United States, it is primarily grown as a decorative shrub.
