Ranula

Forms in the floor of the mouth as a result of trauma or blockage of a salivary gland duct. It may be lined with epithelium. A ranula is mucus extravasation occurring in the floor of the mouth and usually associated with a sublingual gland.


A small cyst under the tongue, on the floor of the mouth, which forms when a salivary duct is blocked.


Ranulae, cyst on the underside of the tongue, usually due to obstruction of a mucous or salivary gland.
