Monitor

An apparatus which automatically records such physiological signs as respiration, pulse, and blood pressure in an anesthetized patient or one undergoing surgical or other procedures.


A person who receives, and often records, radio or other electronic messages without himself or herself transmitting.


A screen on a computer.


One who observes a condition, procedure, or apparatus, especially one responsible for detecting and preventing malfunction.


A display device utilized in radiography to present the radiographic image is known as a television screen.


To consistently observe a patient’s condition. The term “monitor” is also utilized to denote any device employed for conducting monitoring.
