Orifice

Any opening, whether by a foramen, a meatus, a perforation, or one which serves as an entrance or outlet to a vessel, canal, or cavity.


An opening in the body, e.g. the mouth or anus.


Opening to a body cavity or chamber (e.g., aortic orifice, opening from the lower left heart chamber to the aorta).


The mouth, entrance, or outlet of any anatomical structure.


In anatomy, the term “orifice” pertains to any aperture within the body, particularly a point of entry or exit for a bodily cavity. An instance of an orifice is the mouth.
