Semi‐synthetic opioid analgesic, recommended for moderate to severe pain. It may be used as a single agent or combined with products such as acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen.
A narcotic pain reliever. Oxycodone (OxyContin, Percocet, Percodan, Roxicodone, Tylox, and others) is prescribed for moderate to severe pain. Oxycodone is more effective in episodes of acute rather than chronic pain. Like all narcotics, oxycodone has a high potential for abuse and can impair the ability to drive.
