A poison found in fungi.
The poisonous principle found in some toadstools. It is a cholinergic substance with pharmacological properties resembling those of acetylcholine, a chemical neurotransmitter released at the junctions (synapses) of parasympathetic nerves and at the junctions where nerves enter muscles.
