Nitrazepam

A tranquilliser used in some sleeping pills.


A hypnotic drug administered by mouth to treat insomnia and sleep disturbances. It is often preferred to other hypnotics since side-effects are not severe, though morning drowsiness sometimes occurs.


A tranquilliser introduced as a hypnotic. It is long-acting and may produce drowsiness next day. Addiction can occur.


A benzodiazepine medication employed for the temporary management of insomnia. Nitrazepam has a prolonged duration of action and could result in a hangover-like sensation, characterized by drowsiness and a feeling of lightheadedness on the subsequent day. If used consistently for multiple weeks, its effectiveness might diminish due to the development of tolerance.


Nitrazepam has the potential to result in drug dependence and trigger withdrawal symptoms, including feelings of nervousness and restlessness.
