Non-hodgkins lymphoma

A cancer of the lymph nodes which differs from Hodgkin’s disease by the absence of a particular type of cell with double nuclei.


The cancers that develop in lymphatic tissue that are not Hodgkin disease. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma accounts for about 5 percent of all cases of cancer in the United States. Symptoms usually include painless swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck, groin, or underarm; unexplained fever; night sweats; constant fatigue; unexplained weight loss; itchy skin; and reddened patches on the skin. Diagnosis requires several tests, including a biopsy of an affected lymph node, blood tests, X rays, CT (computed tomography) scanning, and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanning.
