The process of inserting local anaesthetic all the way round a digit, e.g. a finger, in order to perform a procedure distal to the block.
A local anaesthetic agent injected into the circumference of the base of a digit. It numbs the nerves of the finger or toe and so permits minor surgery to be performed.
