  • Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath

    An extension of the enamel organ (cervical loop). Determines the shape of the roots and initiates dentin formation during tooth development. Its remnants persist as epithelial rests of Malassez in the periodontal ligament.  

  • Herpetiform aphtha

    Characterized by clusters of multiple, shallow ulcers throughout the oral cavity. Almost continuous in nature.
