  • Joint integrity

    The soundness of the anatomical and kinematic properties of a joint. Joint integrity can be diminished by anatomical, congenital, infectious, pathological, or traumatic processes.  

  • Jet injection

    The injection of medicines and vaccines through the skin or intramuscularly without a needle. A nozzle ejects a fine spray of liquid at such speed as to penetrate but not harm the skin. The procedure is harmless and is especially useful in immunizing a great number of persons quickly and economically.  

  • Juxtaglomerular granule

    A granule found within the juxtaglomerular cells of the kidneys. Juxtaglomerular cells secrete renin.  

  • Jugular gland

    A firm or enlarged lymph node lying beneath the sternocleidomastoid muscle, often associated with malignancy.

    A ganglion located on the root of the vagus nerve and lying in the upper portion of the jugular foramen.

    The depression in the petrosal portion of the temporal bone for the jugular vein.

    A skin flap moved from place to place by successively cutting one end and attaching it to a new site once vascularity is established on the stationary portion.
