Enzyme therapy

The use of enzyme supplements to cure disease. Enzymes are catalysts for virtually all the chemical processes of the body, and digestive enzymes are essential for the breakdown of food into nutrients that can be absorbed and converted to energy. Enzyme therapy is based on the idea that since cooking and processing food destroys the enzymes in it, people should eat food raw or take supplements to restore the missing enzymes. Without enzyme supplements, believers in enzyme therapy contend that large amounts of undigested food accumulate in the body, where they rot, ferment, and contribute to many physical problems. This view is disputed by medical experts, who believe that the body’s enzyme supply is adequate to digest the food consumed by  most people and that enzyme supplements taken orally do not work.

The ingestion of enzymes from flora and fauna through oral means to enhance the assimilation and metabolism of vital nutrients.
