Epicanthus

A large fold of skin in the inner corner of the eye, common in babies and also found in adults of some groups such as the Chinese.


Vertical fold of skin on the inner aspect of the eye, normal in Oriental persons and sometimes occurring also in Down’s syndrome; also called epicanthic fold.


A vertical fold of skin from the upper eyelid that covers the inner comer of the eye. It is normal in Mongolian races and occurs abnormally in certain congenital conditions, e.g. Down’s syndrome.


A vertical fold of skin extending from the root of the nose to the median end of the eyebrow, covering the inner canthus and caruncle. It is a characteristic of certain races and may occur as a congenital anomaly in others.


A crescent-shaped skin fold that covers the inner corner of the eye.
