A system developed under a program supported by the Health Services and Mental Health Administration under general health services research authorities to develop, test and evaluate the organization and operation of coordinated, community-wide health service management systems (EHSDS) in various kinds and sizes of communities. EHSDS sought to improve access to services, moderate their costs and improve their quality. The EHSDS program is now being gradually terminated under the requirements of P.L. 93-694.
