Gnathostoma

A genus of parasitic nematodes. Adult worms are commonly found in the intestines of tigers, leopards, and dogs. The presence of the larval stage of G. spinigerum in man, who is not the normal host, causes a skin condition called creeping eruption.


A genus of nematodes (worms) that infest the intestines of cats, dogs, and other animals. They are endemic to Asia and occasionally are acquired by humans.
