Kapha

The Ayurvedic Dosha comprised of earth and water elements, governing your bone density and all structure within your body. When Kapha is out of balance, you experience heaviness, fatigue, water retention, depression, and other related issues.

One of the three doshas, combining the water and earth elements. Kapha is the energy that forms the body’s structure bones, muscles, tendons—and provides the “glue” that holds the cells together. It supplies the water for all bodily parts and systems, lubricates joints, moisturizes the skin, and maintains immunity. In balance, kapha is expressed as love, calmness, and forgiveness. Out of balance, it leads to attachment, greed, and envy.

One of the three dosas with qualities of earth and water. It is heavy, wet and cold, lives in the stomach and is responsible for nourishing the mucous membranes, bones, joints, heart and memory. It lubricates the organs and joints and binds the whole body together. When healthy, it creates love and compassion; when destabilised, it creates phlegm, excess weight, lung problems, greed and attachment.

A Dosha corresponding to the mind-body structure. Derived from water and earth, it’s considered the heaviest Dosha. Kapha makes the bones and muscles, cell walls, and basic body structure.
