Macrolide drug

A drug used in the treatment of bacterial infection, often in place of penicillin in people sensitive to penicillin.


Macrolides are a group of antibiotics used to address various infections, spanning those of the ear, nose, throat, respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, and skin. Azithromycin and erythromycin are commonly known macrolides.
