Malalignment

A condition in which something is malaligned, especially in which a tooth is not in its correct position in the mouth.


Arrangement of bone fragments after a fracture such that they do not heal properly.


The abnormal positioning of the teeth in the jaw, producing an improper bite. Malalignment, also called misalignment oft he teeth, requires orthodontic treatment to correct the bite. If the condition is left untreated, the movement of the jaw may produce loosening or shifts in position of the opposing teeth or the adjacent teeth. The condition may also lead to headaches.


Improper alignment of structures such as teeth or the portions of a fractured bone.


Misalignment of teeth in the jaw, causing them not to form a continuous arch shape when observed from above or below.


“Malalignment” can also describe a fracture where the bone ends don’t align straightly.
