An antihelmintic drug used to treat worm infections. Mebendazole (Vermox) is used to treat roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, whipworm, and multiple worm infections. Mebendazole works by preventing the worm from absorbing glucose, or sugar, which depletes its energy supply and eventually leads to death of the worm.


An drug used to treat threadworms in children aged over 2. A single dose is usually effective, but reinfection is common and a second treatment may be given after three weeks.
