Miller-abbott tube

A tube with a balloon at the end, used to clear the small intestine. The balloon is inflated after the tip of the tube reaches an obstruction.

A double channel intestinal tube used to relieve intestinal obstruction. Inserted through a nostril, the tube is passed through the stomach into the small intestine.

A nasal catheter with two tubes is used to alleviate intestinal swelling caused by blockages in the small intestine. It’s inserted through the nose, and the smaller tube is inflated to form a tiny balloon at its end. The natural motion of the intestine moves the balloon to the intended spot. The wider tube is subsequently employed to suction out intestinal contents.
