Mouth

The part where a tubular organ (such as the corolla) opens up into the lobes, the uppermost part of the tube.

An opening at the head of the alimentary canal, through which food and drink are taken in, and through which a person speaks and can breathe.

Oval cavity of the face, bounded by the lips and containing the gums, teeth and tongue, which is the anterior end of the digestive tube. In the mouth food is broken apart by the teeth and tongue and mixed with saliva, as the first step in the digestive process.

The opening to the digestive system, where food is taken in and broken down into smaller pieces. The mouth, along with the nose, is also an entrance to the respiratory system and has a role in speech production.

The mouth, also known as the oral cavity, functions to break down food for swallowing and plays a role in breathing. Moreover, it aids in transforming sound vibrations from the larynx into speech.
