Myoglobinuria

The excretion of myoglobin in the urine caused by certain instances of crush syndrome or an advanced or protracted ischemia of muscles.


The presence of myoglobin in the urine.


The presence in the urine of the pigment myoglobin.


The occurrence of myoglobin in the urine. This is the oxygen-binding pigment in muscle and mild myoglobinuria may occur during exercise. Severe myoglobinuria will result from serious injuries, particularly crushing injuries, to muscles.


Myoglobin in the urine. It may occur following muscular activity, trauma, or as a result of a deficiency of muscle phosphorylase.


The occurrence of reddish urine arises due to the excretion of myoglobin, a byproduct resulting from the breakdown of muscle tissue.


The occurrence of a muscle protein in the urine that gives it a red hue. Physical activity or a feverish condition can be contributing factors. The affected muscles tend to swell and become painful before the urine turns red. This condition is also known as idiopathic paroxysmal myoglobinuria.
