An antinarcotic drug. Naltrexone hydrochloride (Trexan, Re Via) is used to help a person addicted to a narcotic or alcohol stay substance-free. Naltrexone works by blocking the effects of narcotics, particularly the enjoyable “high” associated with drug and alcohol use.
