Napoleon

Layers of puff pastry filled with custard or pastry cream.

Puff pastry baked into a rectangular shape measuring three by five inches, subsequently sliced lengthwise into four sections, which are then spread apart and reassembled, with a filling of custard cream in between. The top is coated with a glaze of confectioner’s sugar and butter.

A classic French pastry known as a mille-feuille, or Napoleon, is a rectangular-shaped dessert composed of multiple layers of puff pastry. The pastry sheets are spread with pastry cream and stacked to create a height of approximately 2 or 3 inches. Often, it is adorned with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a delicate layer of thin icing on top. The mille-feuille offers a delightful combination of flaky pastry and creamy filling, making it a beloved treat in French cuisine.
