Nausea

Sensation of unease and discomfort in the stomach with an urge to vomit.


An unpleasant sensation vaguely referred to the epigastrium and abdomen, with a tendency to vomit.


Sickish feelings in the stomach characterized by a feeling to vomit.


Upset stomach associated with the urge to vomit.


Feeling that one is going to vomit; it occurs in motion sickness, in early pregnancy, at times of extreme stress, and in many illnesses (e.g., gallbladder disease, gastrointestinal viral infections).

The sensation that vomiting is about to occur; however, nausea does not always lead to vomiting.

The feeling of requiring to vomit is known as nausea. While nausea can arise independently of vomiting, the underlying causes remain consistent.


A feeling of queasiness, often a precursor to vomiting.
