Nonmyelinated

Nervous system structures not encased by myelin; may be normal, as in parts of the brain and spinal cord, or abnormal. Loss of myelin occurs in several disease states, including multiple sclerosis; these are referred to as demyehnating diseases.


Molecules that lack an affinity for water (hydrophobic) because of the absence of opposite charges (poles) on either end.
