Nuclear energy

The energy contained within the atomic nucleus.

The energy liberated through either nuclear fission or nuclear fusion processes. It is commonly referred to as atomic energy, atomic power, or nuclear power.

The energy liberated due to alterations in atomic nuclei is referred to as nuclear energy. This form of energy, also called atomic energy, is primarily emitted in the form of heat, light, and ionizing radiation, such as gamma rays.

Nuclear energy is emitted during specific natural occurrences. Instances of this include the autonomous breakdown of radioactive materials like uranium ores, as well as the nuclear reactions responsible for the sun’s energy production. Additionally, nuclear energy is discharged within purposely crafted devices, such as nuclear reactors.
