A health care professional who prepares radioactive compounds for use in diagnostic imaging procedures; gives those compounds to patients (usually by injection); scans patients to determine how radiation is emitted from the body after injection and circulation of the compounds; and then processes and analyzes the images derived so that they can be used as diagnostic aids.
