Overgrowth syndromes

Disorders of physical development, usually in the first years of life, characterized by overly rapid growth. Children with overgrowth syndromes usually demonstrate delayed motor, cognitive, and social development, in addition to reduced muscle tone and impaired speech development. Some syndromes are genetic disorders, and others are caused by tumors. Symptoms vary according to the disorder.
