  • Miasmatic theory of disease

    The theory of the causation of disease that arose during the Middle Ages. It proposed that mysterious poisons from decaying matter were earned in the atmosphere causing disease, germ theory of disease.

    Historically, a term used to indicate a vapor or mist that was thought to cause illness, cf: miasmatic theory of disease.

    A form of shock therapy in which convulsions are produced by injections of metrazol. This treatment is rarely used today.

    In health education, communication techniques through the use of printed and electronic media, group interactions, group instruction, role playing, etc., that assist in the learning process. A way of doing something. The systematic manner, procedure, or technique in performing details of an operation, tests, treatment, or any act.  

  • Methodology

    The techniques, strategies, and other procedures used to achieve goals and objectives, health education methodology. Principles and procedures used in scientific research or other endeavor. The system of principles and procedures used in scientific endeavors.  

  • Methods of systems safety analysis

    Techniques that identify contributing factors in accident causation and identify major hazards before an accident occurs.  

  • Method of ratio production

    A psychophysical method in which the subject is required to adjust a variable stimulus to some stated ratio to another stimulus, method of ratio estimation.

    A psychophysical method in which the subject is required to estimate the ratio of two stimuli method of ratio production.
