  • Legal power

    The legal authority to engage in some act.  

  • Legalization

    The legislative act or administrative executive order authorizing a particular action, decriminalization.

    The adherence to a strict set of laws or codes of conduct as a guide to decision making.

    A lack of legal capacity to perform a given act.  

  • Legal deterrence model

    A concept used in some drug education curricula and in public education efforts of law enforcement officials that emphasizes the legal consequences of using illegal drugs in hopes that people will not use such drugs in order to avoid fines or imprisonment.

    A teacher-centered approach to education consisting of a presentation by the teacher, followed by student responses to questions asked by the teacher concerning the subject just presented, lecture method.

    A traditional teacher-centered approach to learning. It is characterized by one-way communication resulting in very little learning. The may be used to cover a large body of information in a short period of time, lecture recitation.

    A method of subdued conditions in the environment during childbirth. An approach to childbirth that employs a darkened, quiet, and peaceful environment.
