  • Involuntary

    Reaction occurring without intention or volition. Done automatically, without any conscious thought or decision-making being involved. Done without conscious thought or control of the will. An event that happens without conscious intention.

    Within a vessel or vessels. Within the vascular tree. An intravascular (IV) injection is one where a substance is injected into a vein.  

  • Intraocular

    Within the eye. Between the cornea and the lens of the eye.  

  • Intramuscular

    Within or into muscle. Inside a muscle an intramuscular injection. A method of administration of medication or nourishment, in which an injection is given into a patient’s muscle. A medical term referring to “inside a muscle,” such as in the case of an intramuscular injection, where a medication is injected deeply into a muscle.
