  • Anclastogenic

    The prevention of disruption or breakage, such as in the case of chromosomes.  

  • Alpha amylase

    An enzyme produced by the salivary glands and pancreas in mammals. It facilitates the breakdown of internal alpha-1,4-glucosidic bonds in polysaccharides containing three or more glucose residues.  

  • Aconitine

    A toxic substance derived from the dried tuberous root of Aconitum napellus, which was previously administered internally as a fever-reducing agent and stomach anesthetic.  

  • Acinetobacter calcoaceticus

    A type of bacteria that is aerobic, catalase-positive, and oxidase-negative, appearing as paired coccibacilli with a gram-negative structure. This bacterium is commonly found in various natural environments and is a part of the typical microbial population in mammals. However, it can lead to serious infections in individuals with weakened immune systems.  

  • Systemic therapy

    A treatment involving the internal administration of medication, such as in the form of pills or through injection or infusion.  

  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

    Heightened darkening of the skin in areas where inflammation occurred.  

  • Non-inflammatory

    In acne, comedones that do not exhibit any associated skin redness.  

  • Nodulocystic acne

    A severe type of acne marked by many inflamed, deep nodules and large, pus-filled cysts resembling boils. These nodules are sensitive to touch and have a firm texture. The intense inflammation may turn the acne very red or purplish. Scarring is common as the acne heals.  

  • Microcomedone

    The initial phase of comedone development, characterized by a comedone so tiny that it can only be observed under a microscope.  

  • Fungistatic substance

    A substance or product capable of impeding the growth and/or reproduction of certain types of fungi.
