  • Matted

    Closely intertwined, forming a carpet. With hairs that are intertwined. Tangled or connected; said of diseased lymph nodes that have grown into one another, creating a clump or mass of tissue.

    Low-growing plants growing so close together that they form a continuous ground cover; Prostrate and rooting at the nodes (in which case a single plant can form a mat).
