  • Prevalence

    Alteration of the denturebearing surface of a denture to reduce force on the underlying tissues.  

  • Pressure necrosis

    Cell death due to insufficient local blood supply from pressure. In implant dentistry, it refers to the loss of bone that occurs following the application of excessive pressure by the insertion of a dental implant.    

  • Pressure indicating paste

    A material injected or spread on the intaglio surface of the denture to determine the pressure area on the supporting tissue of a dental prosthesis.

    A region of mucosa that is being subjected to excessive pressure from a dental prosthesis.

    Surgical procedures designed to facilitate fabrication of a prosthesis or to improve the prognosis of prosthodontic care.  

  • Preparation

    Planned and executed definitive form of a natural tooth or implant abutment following instrumentation to receive a prosthetic restoration. The act of getting a person ready for a surgical operation. A medicine or liquid containing a drug. The making ready, especially of a medicine for use.
