An occlusal relationship where the teeth are located in a lingual position to their normal location.

Lingualized occlusion
An occlusal relationship commonly used in full denture prostheses characterized by maxillary palatal cusp contact against the central fossa of the mandibular teeth, where the buccal cusps of the mandibular teeth do not contact the opposing maxillary teeth and the position of the mandibular teeth is lingual to the alveolar ridge.

Lingual nerve
Branch of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve. It lies inferior to the lateral pterygoid and medial and anterior to the inferior alveolar nerve. It supplies sensory innervations to the mucous membrane of the anterior two‐thirds of the tongue and the gingiva on the lingual side of the mandibular teeth.
