Q-sort

A personality assessment technique in which the subject (or an observer) indicates the degree to which a standardized set of descriptive statements actually describes the subject. The term reflects the “sorting” procedures occasionally used with this technique.


In psychology a personality test used in client-centered therapy or research, in which the person in question categorizes a series of descriptive statements ranging from “very characteristic” to “very uncharacteristic” as they apply to him or her.
