Radon seed

A tissue implant containing radon that is used to treat internal malignancies.

Minuscule radioactive seeds, encased within a sealed capillary tube, are permanently implanted into tissue as a treatment for cancer. These seeds gradually release their radiation over the course of approximately one month.

A tiny glass capillary tube holding radon is enclosed within a small gold or platinum tube. This assembly is used for the purpose of implantation into tissues or tumors to facilitate their destruction.
