The Reference Daily Intakes are a set of dietary references based on the Dietary Reference Intake value (either Recommended Dietary Allowances or Adequate Intake values) for essential vitamins and minerals. These values are used in food labeling to allow consumers to gauge the nutrient content of a serving of a particular food item.
A set of dietary references for protein, vitamin, and mineral intakes used to identify amounts per serving on food labels. RDIs, which replaced the term “US RDAs” (recommended daily allowances), have been used by the US government since 1996. Intakes for all other nutrients are referred to as Daily Reference Values (DRVs).
