Cutting, prying, digging, and pulling tools used to free entrapped persons.


A piece of equipment used by rescuers in emergency medical service to free trapped victims. Rescue tools include a come-a-long, a hand-operated winch used to gain forceful entry during a rescue; cutting tools, used to cut open vehicles and metal to gain access to a person; a hydraulic jack, a hand-operated jack used to lift objects away from a person; pneumatic air bags, used to lift or spread heavy objects; and a power chisel, a pressure-operated device used to cut into sheet metal.
