A test done to determine how much blood is able to circulate through the heart muscle. The test is done by injecting a radioactive substance intravenously, followed by producing images of the heart with a scintillation camera or a scanner. Other heart-related tests (electrocardiogram, blood pressure measurements) are taken while the patient works out on a treadmill or a stationary bicycle.
