Three‐dimensional guidance system for implant placement

A computed tomography (CT) scan is performed to provide image data for a three‐dimensional guidance construct for implant placement. A guide is a structure or marking that directs the motion or positioning of something, thus in implant dentistry this term should not be used as a synonym for surgical implant guide. A radiographic guide is rather used as a positioning device in intraoral radiography.
