Timolol

A beta-blocker used in the treatment of migraine, high blood pressure and glaucoma. Timolol (Blocadren) is also used to treat heart attacks and arrhythmias. Timolol, in combination with the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (Timolide), is used to lower blood pressure and decrease edema (swelling). By itself (Timoptic) or in combination with another drug (Cosopt), timolol is used as an eye drop to treat glaucoma and reduce pressure within the eye.

A beta-blocker medication prescribed for managing high blood pressure and angina pectoris, which is chest pain caused by insufficient blood flow to the heart. Timolol can also be administered following a heart attack. Additionally, it is available in eye-drop form for treating glaucoma, a condition characterized by elevated pressure inside the eyeball.

Common side effects like cold hands and feet are also frequently observed with other beta-blockers. The eye-drop form may lead to symptoms such as irritation, blurry vision, and headaches.
