Tissue committee

A committee, which usually functions in a hospital setting, and reviews and evaluates all surgery performed in the hospital on the basis of the extent of agreement among the preoperative, postoperative, and pathological diagnoses; and on the relevance and acceptability of the procedures undertaken for the diagnosis. The name derives from the use of pathologic findings from tissue removed at surgery as a key element in the review.
