A fermented soybean product resembling cottage cheese.

Bean curd, also known as tofu, is a tender food produced by coagulating soymilk with an enzyme, calcium sulfate, or an organic acid, and subsequently pressing the formed curds into blocks or chunks. Tofu is commonly employed in vegetarian cuisine as a substitute for meat or cheese.
