Tuboplasty

A surgical procedure used to open and sometimes to rebuild fallopian tubes, where blockage has prevented conception. In this procedure, a surgeon unblocks the tubes by using microsurgery or a balloon tuboplasty, in which a small balloon-tipped tube called a balloon catheter is inserted through the uterus and into the fallopian tube. The balloon is inflated to widen or unblock the fallopian tube. The balloon is then deflated, and the catheter is removed. The operation is used to create a passage for unfertilized eggs to move from the ovary through the fallopian tube to be fertilized and for fertilized eggs to migrate to the uterus.

A surgical procedure aimed at fixing a damaged fallopian tube to address infertility issues. This repair work can be carried out using microsurgical techniques.
